pae.do.mor.phism n
Word: (ca. 1891)
Retention in the adult of infantile or juvenile characters
paedomorphosis
Word:
also spelled PEDOMORPHOSIS, retention by an organism of juvenile or even larval traits into later life. There are two aspects of paedomorphosis: acceleration of sexual maturation relative to the rest of development (progenesis) and retardation of bodily development with
respect to the onset of reproductive activity (neoteny).
Classic examples include certain amphibian species in which development
is arrested so that the larval form and aquatic habit persist as the
organism attains sexual maturity and becomes capable of reproduction. In
some species only a few morphological features are retarded, but the
number of features retarded may differ from species to species. Adult
humans, for example, display various neotenic body features that other
adult primates do not.
In other species all morphological development is retarded; the organism
is juvenilized but sexually mature. Such shifts of reproductive
capability would appear to have adaptive significance to organisms that
exhibit it. In terms of evolutionary theory, the process of
paedomorphosis suggests that larval stages and developmental phases of
existing organisms may give rise, under certain circumstances, to wholly
new organisms.

Panacea
Mythical Substance:
The panacea, named for a Greek goddess of healing, is a mythical substance able to cure any illness or poison and even prolong one's life. This basic form of wish-fulfillment, a medicine that instantly fixes everything, is an old idea and takes many forms in various mythologies and subsequent fiction. The strength of its effect varies. A weak panacea will work on natural diseases but might be useless against certain ailments, especially if they are of a magical or evil nature. It might elongate one's lifespan, but must be taken regularly to do so and it may not work forever. A strong panacea, on the other hand, is proof against anything you can think of and might well bestow endless life with one sip, making its user The Ageless.

Phineas and Ferb
Cartoon TV Series: Season 04; Episode #01: "Fly On the Wall" (01/11/2013)
While Candace tries to get Stacy's help to figure out what to wear for her surprise date with Jeremy, Phineas and Ferb are trying to figure out what they're going to do after their daily project's parts didn't arrive. Buford and Isabella suggest to modify some of their old inventions, but Baljeet refutes them. Phineas decides to build something new and simple, in the spirit of summer. While the kids all try to remember how they know the song Summer (Where Do We Begin?), Buford inspires Phineas to build a tire swing. Phineas suddenly wonders where Perry went.
Perry enters his lair and is told by Major Monogram that Dr. Doofenshmirtz is "at the shark"; Carl quickly corrects this to "at the park." Monogram sends Perry to deal with the problem, as it is much less heebie-jeebie than he thought.
While the kids are building their giant jet-powered tire swing, Phineas walks away to confirm calculations with Baljeet. Buford fiddles with the controls so as to look busy, and removes a doohickey causing the controls to emit a glowing ray. He quickly replaces the doohickey and asks Phineas what removing that doohickey would do; Phineas figures out it would cause the controls to fire a ray turning a person into a fly, pointing out that removing a different part could turn the controls into a sorbet machine.
Meanwhile, Candace realizes that Stacy's suggestion of a hair bow doesn't look good on her, and goes to remove it, but realizes that she's been turned into a fly. She tries to get Linda's attention, but her mother just shoos her away, thinking she's just a fly. Candace persistently follows Linda and accidentally gets into the car with her, hitting the back windshield as the car pulls away.
At Danville Park, Perry comes across Doofenshmirtz having a picnic. Doofenshmirtz invites Perry to join him, but the cloth gives way and traps Perry in a hole. Doofenshmirtz then reveals his latest -inator: the Feed-the-Pigeons-inator. Perry is unimpressed, but Doofenshmirtz tries to rationalize it by pointing out that feeding the pigeons is prohibited in the park, and is therefore illegal. He then sighs and tells Perry that he's suffering from evil scientist's block, having hit a dry spell during a summer that feels like it's been going on for four years. He asks for Perry's help, and the platypus immediately hops out of the trap and walks away with Doofenshmirtz.
After finishing the tire swing, the kids all test it out. After the initial test with the kids inside the tire, Phineas pushes a button that dangles each of them in individual tires, hanging from the one large tire. Everyone enjoys it.
Perry puts Doofenshmirtz through a series of exercises and paintings in order to help him break out of his block, culminating in a successful -inator.
Candace is still trying to get Linda's attention in the car, so Linda rolls down the window, causing Candace to fly out of the car. She then flies throughout Danville, eventually ending up in Jeremy's room. Listening in on his phone conversation with Coltrane, she hears him say that he's taking her to the rodeo. Candace is thrilled because she now knows what to wear, but has to leave after Jeremy tries to swat her. She immediately is forced to flee again, this time from some of the Fireside Girls trying to trap her in a jar, and succeeds, coming across another fly with a human head in the process.
The tire swing ride has ended, and Isabella proclaims it "the most fun ever." They prepare to set up for another ride when Baljeet notices "a fly with orange hair." Phineas looks and realizes that it is Candace, and that Buford had removed the doohickey. Buford messes with the machine again and is able to eventually get Candace back to normal towards the end they are cycling through transformations and Candace is a baby for one. who threatens to bust them, but thanks them as well. Buford then notices a "FLY" button on the controls and pushes it, causing the tire swing to fly into the air and its supporting pole to end up in outer space. Isabella is disappointed that the fun is over, but Phineas turns the machine into a sorbet maker and offers sorbet to his friends.
Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz is thrilled that he has created his best -inator ever, and gloats to Perry that since it has no self-destruct feature, there is nothing stopping him from taking over the Tri-State Area. However, before he can finish gloating, the giant tire crushes his -inator.
While the kids are eating sorbet, Jeremy arrives in a suit, looking for Candace. She emerges dressed as a cowboy, having planned for the rodeo, but they are instead going to a restaurant pronounced "Ro-DAY-o." Candace laments that it must not be "dress like a cowboy and get your dinner free night," and the waiter confirms: those are Tuesdays. (AA TF ARed glimpse)

With his final breath the king says he's escaped the pirate lord Bloth and tells Ren to seek someone called Alomar. Ren learns of the Thirteen Treasures of Rule, which when reunited will restore his homeland of Octopon, and receives a magical Compass for finding them. Unfortunately Bloth arrives, and Ren is unable to stop the pirates from killing Alomar, though he and Niddler escape. In a tavern, Ren meets Ioz and tricks him into being their seafaring guide with a fake treasure map. Ponce De Leon, Juan
Person: (1460-1521)
A Spanish soldier and explorer, Juan Ponce de León is probably best remembered for his search for the fabled Fountain of Youth. He was born in the province of León in northwestern Spain in 1460. In 1493 he accompanied Christopher Columbus on his second voyage to America. Ponce de León established a colony on Puerto Rico in 1508 and was made governor in 1509. In Puerto Rico he heard a legend about an island called Bimini, where there was said to be a spring that restored youth to all who bathed in it. It is said he was seeking this spring when he discovered Florida.
He sailed from Puerto Rico in March 1513. On Easter Sunday he sighted the coast. A few days later he landed on Florida's east coast, near what is now St. Augustine. He named the place La Florida after the Spanish term for Easter Sunday--Pascua Florida, or "flowery feast." He then sailed around the peninsula and up the west coast. He returned to Florida in 1521. Wounded during an Indian attack, he was taken back to Cuba, where he soon died. Ponce de León is buried in the cathedral at San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Popeye
Cartoon Series: Season 0?; Episode #??: "Kiddie Kapers"
Brutus gets a youth potion from the Sea Hag (a witch that appeared in the comic strip but never in the Paramount theatrical cartoons). The label on the potion bottle advises "Take only one drop. The more you take, the younger you get." Brutus takes one drop and becomes a thinner handsome fellow with a gigolo mustache. He sweeps Olive off her feet, but Popeye recognizes Brutus' voice. Olive refuses to believe him, saying Brutus is fat and ugly. Popeye finds the potion bottle in Brutus back pocket. He reads the one drop requirement and adds, "If one drop did that to Brutus, imagine what a good swig will do for me." The potion turns him into a toddler who can only whine "Mommy!" Brutus decides it's more fun to spank Popeye than woo Olive. So Olive gives Popeye a teaspoon of spinach, and he paddles the adult Brutus. Olive later takes a swig of the potion to join Popeye in toddler-hood.

Popeye
Cartoon Series: Season 0?; Episode #??: 'Popeye de Leon' (November of 1960)
Popeye tells Swee'Pea the story of Ponce De Leon (played by Popeye), who found a fountain of youth. At the end of this story, Brutus falls in the fountain and is turned in a baby. Olive plays a native. Wimpy accidentaly appears. The jerky animation makes Brutus is actually shrinking by volume instead of getting younger. We realize he has become a baby only by an off-screen cry, followed by Olive Oyl pulling to her a baby that doesn't look much like Brutus. (Maybe he was discouraged by the breast-feeding prospects).

Power Instinct
Game Series: [Atlus] (1993)
a fighting game series created by Atlus started in 1993.
The Power Instinct series (often abbreviated as PI or GI for short) is renowned for its more humorous take on fighting games, its music and its often-weird characters.[citation needed]
One of the innovations unique to the series was the introduction of the transformation feature. Several of the characters can change their appearance and fighting style by simply executing certain moves (usually a throwing move), though this has not been featured in every entry in the series. Other features include the ability to perform a double jump and attacking while dashing.
