Oh! My Goddess! Vol. 21 Manga Comic Book: Dark Horse: (July 13, 2005) This is not a regular comic book, as the rest of the OMG reprints from Dark Horse have been so far, but the first reprinting of an OMG story in the original manga format with dialogue translated into English. In other words, it's a relatively small trade paperback where pages are read in the order of back to front and panels right to left. Anyway, this book continues a storyline from some time ago in which the Fourth Goddess, Peorth, was regressed into a child. She's still in little anime girl form as Keiichi, Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld try to return Peorth to adulthood. Be warned, the story is continued to the next digest. And cover price is $10.95. Also, if you're a giantess lover as well as a AR lover, look for the BIG panel on page 53 (the end of chapter 131) where Peorth has grown up, but not aged. You should be able to find this in the manga section of most comic book stores now, and in major book store chains soon. -- Zeketgrimm
Oh My Goddess!: Mystery Child Comic Book: Dark Horse Comics: "Mystery Child"
There's an AR scene in the latest issue of OH MY GODDESS from Dark Horse. (The story is 'Mystery Child.') This time, the victim is Peorth. Yeah, she ARs, but her clothes stay the same, and they were kind of scanty to begin with.
Let's see, so far, this makes two of the goddesses ARing (Urd was the other some issues ago) and on APing (Skuld, the only one you'd notice that with).

Oku-sama wa Mahou Shoujo Anime: Park 05
Sayaka’s beginning to deal with love, and has self-esteem issues after she gets teased for being flat. It’s not easy being a mahou shoujo, and poor Sayaka has to deal with body issues at such a young age! She realizes she can change her appearance to an adult to lure Kagura. Transforming into a pig-tailed young adult, her plan seems successful. Sayaka is very pleased Kagura didn’t recognize her. Sayaka is trying to be an adult on the outside, but is so clearly immature, as she struggles with her desire to act older than she is. One of the themes that was consistently touched upon was the difference between age and maturity. Kagura apologizes for trying to kiss adult-form Sayaka, and admits he got caught up in the mood. Sayaka wants to confess her true identity, and is starting to wilt from maintaining her adult form for so long. Before fainting, she asks Kagura if he likes big breasts (since he likes full-bodied pottery). Kagura ends up having to care for Sayaka. Ureshiko secretly infuses Sayaka with enough magic to feel better, and maintain her form. Kagura gives Sayaka his cell phone number and Sayaka giddily accepts it, and tells Kagura that her name is Sayaka. Kagura realizes this name sounds familiar, but has to rush off. (aP, RN)

On Stranger Tides Book: by Tim Powers
For some absolutely bizarre reason some person gave this book to my grandfather (whose favorite book is Popular Science) thinking that he might like it. So that explains how I wound up with this novel, which I had actually been seeking out for some time. And it turns out to be an awful fun read, not as consistently dazzling as The Anubis Gates or Last Call, but definitely falling into the solid entertainment catagory. Powers turns back to the clock to the time of the pirates, and into that pot throws voodoo magic, zombies, sorcerers and the Fountain of Youth. His plotting remains are deft as ever, although everything feels relatively straightforward this time, most of the major twists you can see at least a portion of them coming from somewhere, there isn't a huge amount of complexity going on and overall it's probably safe to say not a lot really happens. But even Powers on auto-pilot has much to offer and his depiction of the pirate community is great fun and the introduction of the fantasy elements never feels forced or contrived, the journey to the Fountain of Youth is one of the book's creepiest and most magical moments. And even though there's not a huge amount going on, Powers keeps the action coming and moves things along swiftly enough that at least you're rarely bored, even if you're being more entertained than amazed. To date, Powers hasn't written a bad book and he still has tons more imagination than most of his writing peers so that his novels are at the very worst merely interesting instead of jaw droppingly good. That's the case here, you'll find the book a pleasant enough time but it certainly doesn't rank with his best work. Still, it's great fun and who said being merely entertaining was bad? This should be next on the list after you've whetted your appetite with The Anubis Gates or Last Call. You won't be disappointed. (Ar)

One Pill Makes You Smaller Novel: by Lisa Dierbeck (2003)
(accelerated growth) Lisa Dierbeck, Alice Duncan feels monstrously tall for her age. At 11 years she stands 5'7" and is fully developed, and beautiful too. In her own opinion, she's a freak: "a kid's head grafted on a woman's body." She looks so much like a grown woman, she's hit on by her classmates and their fathers. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the novel portrays a young girl's unwilling tumble toward adulthood. Most of the time the author makes her seem like a 22-year old Playboy playmate or a Barbie doll in terms of her physique. Page 6: "... alarming rapid-growth spurts, like the Grow-Me Barbie doll whose torso lengthened when Alice pulled her hair in one direction and her legs in the other. Rabbit knew that despite Alice's unusual height, she was eleven. He'd even attended her eleventh-birthday party."

Other worlds: the fantasy genre Book: By John H. Timmerman (01/09/2007)
Fantasy permits its readers a certain distance from pragmatic affairs and offers them a clearer insight into them. It offers a parallel reality, which gives us a renewed awareness of what we already know. Fantasy invites the reader to recover a belief which has been beclouded by knowledge, to renew a faith which has been shattered by fact. As the pace of modern life quickens, the fascination for fantasy literature quickens simultaneously.
[Lord Foul cringed at the sound. He strove to sustain his defiance but could not. With a cry of mingled pain and fury, he covered his face and began to change. The years melted off his frame. His hair darkened, beard grew stiffer; with astonishing speed, he was becoming younger. And at the same time he lost solidity, stature. His body shrank and faded with every undone age. Soon he was a youth again, barely visible. Still the change did not stop. From a youth he became a child, growing steadily younger as he vanished. For an instant, he was a loud infant squalling his ancient frustration. Then he disappeared altogether. ]
