Crusty old man uses a bow against lascivious men who would love to paw a doelike 16-year-old girl (Han Yeo-reum) who he has raised on his boat since age 6. When the girl turns 17, the old man is planning a "wedding." A college student becomes a rival for her affections. The climax conveys a young girl's loss of innocence and her maidenhead. And the final climax -- there are false ones -- has a strong emotional impact.

The Tears of Astalis (AP, CB) Pt 2, Tsuguo Okazaki, published in North America by Viz. Astalis is a 5-year old child who watched Justy kill her father. At such a young age she is consumed with hate for her father’s murderer and the desire to avenge his death by killing Justy. This hate is so powerful it accelerates her physical growth to that of a grown woman – mentally, she remains a child. Her clothes give way under the pressure. This presents a number of problems for her as she begins to learn how to adapt to her new form. When Justy and Astalis face each other, their pain and inner feelings are seen quite clearly in their eyes. Justy defeats and captures Astalis. Jerna is put in charge of this 5-year old in a woman’s body. Astalis recovers quickly and goes on the attack within HQ after she learns Jerna is Justy’s sister. God is used to explain away a necessary evil to a child! Justy tells Astalis, “God was on my side, Astalis. That’s why you couldn’t win.” This whole explanation, religious bit included, does get Astalis to accept the truth about her father and Justy’s apology. So ends the battle with Astalis, but she's just a child so the battles can only grow from here!
Naisho no Tsubomi (growth) "Tsubomi's Secrets" 2005 Yu Yabuuchi manga sex-ed for elementary schoolgirls. 5th grader Tsubomi Tachibana deals with issues such as her mother's pregnancy, her physical development, her first period and the strange feelings she has started to get when she has been around boys. "Sometimes, my heart has started to beat really fast." Parents and teachers have praised the comic's realistic depiction of life for children entering puberty.

Sea Child (TF) Sylvia Peck novel. Lured by the plaintive cries of a seal pup, young Molly stumbles over the gruesome remains of its butchered mother. Later, a mysterious girl named Meara shows up, with glossy dark hair and odd ways. Readers will guess Meara's secret (she is a selkie) long before Molly does, but that won't spoil the bittersweet ending, in which Meara makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the life of her beloved new friend.

Naruto (AR, AP, age stasis, flash forward, old age) Ep 88. Anime/manga. Tsunade uses a forbidden technique! She should be in her 50's, but she can look like a female in her 40's, 30's, 20's, and her young teens. She can also look like a small 10 year old girl. Because of their clan's bloodline, Tsunade and her father had monstrous strength and the ability to manipulate cells. Her body can reduce its outer appearance. Probably not genjutsu since she is physically younger on the surface; it's a physical body change through ninjutsu or a henge, which would seemingly require her to be awake and conscious to maintain the change in appearance... In later chapters she retains her youthful look even when asleep. When we first see Tsunade she has taken on the appearance of a young woman in her 20's. She does her genesis rebirth technique to change her age and avoid her gambling debts. We know that the youth-jutsu is not illusory because it temporarily wears off from the strain on her body. When Tsunade used the Souzou Saisei it replenished her health and vitality, but on the downside it sped her cell aging to cause her actual body to look even older. If she rested, her body would return to its 20 year old appearance. Her claim was that she could never die in battle, but by forcing a regeneration of each cell in her body, the number of times her cells can, as a whole, divide is reduced. She can keep herself looking young, but is actually burning her candle at both ends, depending on how much she uses the seal.

The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket (flash forward) Theater. Each cast member of this Different Stages production saunters onstage a 12-year-old lout and strides off a 32-year-old lout. Alice (Jenni Rall, the only lead who convincingly makes the child-adult transformation), the girl of Daniel Rocke's dreams, is in love with his best friend Richard. Everyone makes fun of Daniel because he thinks he can fly. When it turns out he can indeed fly, he runs away to become famous. When Daniel returns to his old hometown (never a good idea) 20 years later, having achieved fame and fortune abroad, he finds that nothing has changed. The one thing this show, full of 25-year-old preteens and miracles, so desperately needs -- suspension of disbelief -- never materializes. One disbelief-suspending strategy is the ceaseless cacophony of affected (first preteen and then thirtysomething) voices. According to Rocket and company, life at 12 is bad and it doesn't get any better.

Art Rogers (flash forward, some old age) Marin photographer records subjects at milestones in their lives in the same physical settings. "Yesterday and Today" exhibit, B&W. In his "Three Little Cowboys," pint-sized cow pokes perch on a loveseat in their ranch home; 10 years later, they're gangling teenagers who fill up that same couch, as well as their once too-large cowboy hats. In "The Pincurl Girls," 4 little girls smile shyly into the camera, only to morph a few years later into tentative preteens on the cusp of discovery and finally, expectant young women. A little boy named Ethan sits on his pony in a field. In the next, Ethan's all grown up, sitting astride a motorcycle in the same spot. In "Four Generations of Poncias," birth and death leave their indelible mark on one ranching family. His subjects stare right into the lens as they sit around the dinner table, gathered on the lawn in front of their houses or standing in the barn with brand new calves. The setting is always the same as the original photograph, although something different sometimes manages to insert itself. Time glides on but also stands strangely still. "Going back to the same spot has a very powerful dynamic," says Rogers. "Somehow, it instills all the things that stay the same but all the things that change, too." Rogers feels lucky he was relatively young when he started taking the family photographs. He figures he'll be there to shoot at least another generation in the coming years. AP - AP - male - male
Familial Rapture (flash forward) Photo book, 09/20/96, Shinchosha. Yokoo's family portraits taken from 1971 to 1996 by photographer friend Koji Yasukochi. The 1958 cover shot was their wedding photo. The book proceeds to show 1 family portrait for almost each year until 1996. Whenever you see a family portrait, the first questions which come to mind are, when was the picture taken and how are old were they in the picture? They start out being 35, 10, and 7 years old in 1971. The most interesting things are seeing how the kids grow up and the variety of hairstyles Yokoo sports each time. He always has this distinct, trademark stare for the camera. Sometimes his kids try to mimic his stare, but fail. The family portraits are followed by husband-and-wife portraits and children-only portraits. He cut and pasted individual portraits to make unreal family portraits. For example, he's got a 1971 picture of himself and his daughter sitting at the forefront, while behind them are portraits of himself and grown daughter shot 20 years later. Another composited picture shows him sitting on a chair with three clones of his wife, each one at a different age. Then there's one intriguing digital picture of the entire family where both the parents and adult children look about the same age.

Leelacyd features selected images from a project -- Ross photographed his daughter each morning in her varied and often creative outfits before she left for high school. Races of Eberron (TF) Dungeons and Dragons supplement. Changelings are a curious sort. They can be anybody, and nobody. The Changeling can change her appearance as per a disguise self spell, though the changes aren't illusionary and her clothes don't change with her. This is an innate ability that she can keep up as long as she wants. As you can imagine, this makes Changelings distrusted in most communities where they live, when it is known that they're there at all. Without firm and visible racial ties they don't settle easily into any one cultural mold. "Passers" don't want anybody to know they're a Changeling, so they pick one form and stick with it, in all respects becoming that race. "Becomers" are the opposite, and revel in the ability to be many people in any given day. "Reality Seekers" look for the perfect form and the truth which is a stark contrast with their inherent ability to deceive. Changelings do have an established gender (they find out if they're an outie or an innie at puberty) but can be either gender at will.

When the elder heroes gathered to address growing time disruptions during "Zero Hour", Johnny was rapidly aged by Extant, a temporal villain, as were the majority of the assembled heroes. Though physically much older, he still maintained a costumed presence, later working alongside daughter "Jesse Quick" in the instruction of male APed speedster Impulse.
Power Girl (AP, male AP) Comics. Her parents died after Kara was born and Arion chose to perform certain experiments on the girl. He placed Kara in suspended animation and sent her into the future to save her from the machinations of his brother, Garn Danuuth. Kara aged about 18 years while unconscious, and emerged in the 20th century, where it would be safe to bear her child. Palindromes (kinda looks like ARed / APed) Movie, 2004 Solondz. Aviva Victor is a 6-year-old black girl. She’s also a series of 13- to 14-year-old white girls, an androgynous white boy, skinny, redheaded, a heavyset black woman and, ultimately, Jennifer Jason Leigh. Which is to say that Solondz has cast her with 7 different actors to encourage us to identify with her regardless of our race or body type—and, on an even deeper level, to suggest the immutability of personality. Features teen pregnancy (the character, no matter who plays her, gets pregnant at 13 while fooling around with a family friend and wants desperately to be a mother); abortion (which Aviva’s mother, played by Ellen Barkin, forces her to have); child molestation (Aviva runs away from home and gets involved with a truck driver who has to be in his 40s); and the murder of abortion doctors. Leigh, who plays Aviva in the final section, gives the character a palpable sense of weariness at the end of the character’s journey, yet you truly feel as if you’re watching an insecure, 13-year-old girl — which Aviva is still supposed to be, because as the title suggests, she hasn’t really changed.

What do they do with this power? Rip the clothes off each others' bods, of course! A girl splits her pants when she bends down and then hides behind her boyfriend and her breast pops out but she's wearing a bra.

7 Years Of (flash forward) Photo book, 1998. Gakken, Perfect Visual Scene. Retrospective photo book of Megumi Okina from age 12 to 18. The photos seem to come from the idol magazine Bomb. The book starts with a cute baby photo (age 2 or 3) and age 12. (Very mature-looking 6th grader.) Then we see her at age 18. Then back to age 13 in a lot of swimsuits and yukata kimono. Even as a child, she had the looks of a top-class model. For ages 14 and 15, there are only a few shots. But at age 16, she's in a swimsuit again and there are many photos of her. It seems that sweet 16 is an important age. More swimsuits at age 17, but none at age 18. Her face hardly changes during these 7 years.

Will McBride (male flash forward) Photo book "Coming of Age", Aperture 5/1/99. He has befriended many of his subjects to whom he has returned year after year producing a pictorial diary of their coming of age. In his studio work and in his reportage for such magazines as Twen, McBride has focused on young men as they come to terms with their inner and outer development. While the subjects range from childhood (as young as 3 or 4) to adulthood, less than half of the pictures seem to be in the 'coming of age' range.

The Donkey's Hide (TF) Live-action 1982 USSR "Nadezhda Kosheverova" This classic fairy tale involves the daughter of a widowed Russian King. She receives a magical ring and is able to change her appearance at will. French version of the same story directed by Jacques Demy was released in 1970.
Carnivale (looks like ARed) HBO live action. 2/13/05, S.2 #18 "The Road to Damascus" Sophie sits and reads a book. She notices someone in the rear view mirror of the truck. She looks out and sees a very pretty, if spooky, little black haired girl standing with her back to Sophie, holding a porcelain-faced doll. The little girl turns and we see that she looks like a younger Sophie, only with jet-black eyes. According to the casting info, it was "young Sophie". "Every prophet in her house" she says. Sophie calls out "Mother" because the little girl was using Apollonia's voice. It could also have been the child who would be born if Sophie and Ben consumated their year of smouldering.
- Iris was thrown into her first vision of Justin raping Appy. In the scene Iris is older while Justin was shown as younger. Young Sophie turned into Iris and said NO! when asked about her father.
Young Avengers (CB, giantess) Comic. 2005 # 2. 13 year old Cassie Lang discovers she can grow! The daughter of the deceased Ant-Man has hit puberty, awakening her mutant powers. Cassie gets furious that the Young Avengers won't allow her into the mansion. There's an extreme close up of her face as she's yelling that she is not leaving until they allow her to get her dad's belongings, so she can become Ant-girl. Final shot? She's freaking huge! The girl has grown an extra 15 ft or so, with clothes rippage. Panties are shown through torn jeans. Hopefully next issue we'll get some residual effects and reactions. She may become Giant Girl, like Giant Man or Atlas.
Adventures of the Unknown (AP) #101 American Comics Group: "The Witch Who Wouldn't" A man accidentally brings a witch into the world. The baby witch soon grows into a little girl, then an adult. She grows 8 times times faster than normal people. (Jeffr_2bya)

National Children's Study (flash forward) In all, 100,000 children and their parents will be enrolled in the largest ever study of youngsters. It will be a 21-year odyssey of discovery, following children from the uterus to the threshold of adulthood. 3 to 8 sites will each enroll 250 newborns a year for 5 years, and eventually 96 locations will be chosen, with a price tag that could go as high as $2.7 billion.

When this happens the person turns older. The creature drains Diana and Java and they turn older; when the creature is destroyed they revert back to normal. (Highlander)

Dr Who (male mental AR) "Kinda" 1982, 4 parts. Hindle has wired a dome with bombs. The Doctor and Todd rush to stop him. Hindle is reverted to a child-like state, and Todd tricks him into opening the Box of Jhana. The light floods his mind.
Child of Our Time (AP flash forward, in production) First eps. in 2001. Little Charlotte Goldsmith will be part of a 20-year BBC documentary which will allow the nation to watch her grow up before its very eyes. She was one of 25 babies born at the start of the new millennium chosen to be part of a ground-breaking study into what influences the development of children. Leading fertility expert Lord Robert Winston, who previously presented The Human Body, will be keeping tabs on the children into adulthood to find out what really affects a baby's personality. Charlotte's mum Emma Goldsmith, 25, said: "The study will follow Charlotte as she grows up into an infant and over the next 20 years. They can take a photographic image of Charlotte and alter it so I can see what she might look like when she is my age. The team comes around once a month for the day."

Bone (AP) #55 (Final Issue) "Crown of Horns" The Great Red Dragon is forcing Thorn to confront her destiny. He tells her to look and tell what she sees. As a child, she sees only what is there on the surface. The next few panels show Thorn has changed into an adult, and when pressed to say what else she sees, she snaps "Why do you FORCE me to look?"

Quiznos (kinda looks like male ARed) 2004 commercial. We are introduced to an infant who somehow speaks with the gruff voice and salty vocabulary of a 40-year-old man. It's a miracle! Sadly, this talking baby will speak only of Quiznos subs. What a missed opportunity for pediatric studies. But what a boon for those who want to learn more about oven-toasted turkey sandwiches.
Shifting Love (TF) Constance O’Day Flannery, 2004, ISBN 0765348896. Maggie O’Shea is a shapeshifter who belongs to a mysterious foundation that employs her to restore the hearts and hopes of pivotal men. Her mentor Marcus, who does the same thing with women, tells her she must awaken the heart of one Julian McDonald. This means sleeping with him, making him fall in love with her, and then letting him down easy since she’s the one who comes before the right one. This time it looks like she might not be able to turn off her own heart. The worldbuilding and “rules” for shapeshifting were at times underexplained. Just when you thought you grasped how things worked, the heroine would evidence a new power when it was convenient to the plot.
Beyond Forever (TF) Rosalyn Alsobrook. Alisha finds herself transported back to 1881! Her clothes went back in time with her "soul", but not her body. She looks like a woman named Andrea Knight who has swindled money.
Kafka on the Shore (ghost AR AP) Haruki Murakami. The presiding spirit of the library, the mysterious middle-aged Miss Saeki, appears to Kafka as a ghost in younger form, and then in her older form, whereupon they have an affair, despite her being in her fifties and he being 15.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (male AP, male old age) J.K. Rowling 2000. Since they have to be of a certain age to enter the Triwizard Tournament, Fred and George give themselves an aging potion to make them age about 1 year. When they enter the area to put their names in, the protecting charms cause them to age considerably instantaneously, growing long white beards and all. (Metamorphose)
The Best and the Brightest (alien AP) Susan Wright 02/98. Star Trek series: "The Lost Years: 2368 - 2371" Starsa is an alien youngster old enough to be in Starfleet Academy, but she hasn't gone through puberty yet and is almost accepted as the child of the group, when she suddenly becomes a woman right before her friends' eyes.
Spideran Kurasu or Spidey (AP) From "The Napping Cat's Dream" Age: 15 Weight: 99 lbs. Height: 5' Spideran's a tan-skinned geek in a grey boy's uniform that seems quite loose. She has a dislike for dresses. In her Spidey "mode" all of this changes. From 5' mouse, to 5'7" Bombshell. She hits instant puberty, from 14 to 18. Her hair grows out to her waist, gaining reddish streaks as it does. Her body... fills out... enough to get the attention of many guys (and a few girls), she loses all her baby fat, becoming quite muscular in a lean, gymnastic sort of way. Her sleeves and pantlegs roll out, the clothes that were once loose becoming glove-tight. Finally, she ditches the glasses, her blue eyes becoming a bright green. Of course.. her personality also seems to shift in this form. She has the strength of two burly men. Normally, Spideran is quiet and soft-spoken, unwilling to gain any spotlight. But, in her Spidey mode, she's wild, random, and a veritable party animal. She's a horrible flirt. Spideran wasn't always a quiet and reclusive girl.. in fact, she used to be quite boisterous, back when she was seven. And then... on her 13th birthday... it happened. One day, when a particularly nasty bunch of bullies picked on her and pushed her into the mud... her shell broke. She allowed herself to get angry, triggering her kinetic. Since their backs were turned, they didn't notice, but she grew taller, older, stronger, and quite pissed. Spideran made the bullies pay... big time. Over the next couple of years, she has learned to control her transformation.. to a point.
