Honey I Shrunk the Kids (unknown AR episode?) Not "Honey, You're Living in the Past" (12/15/97)? The house is haunted and the mother is possessed by a ghost that turns her mentally into a 3 year old with appropriate clothing (a very juvenile outfit). It aired during the third season, and was one of the last shows aired. For some reason this show is not posted on any of the AR sites. The mental AR along with the clothing is extremely good. The Hugga Bunch (old age) Live-action/puppetry 1985 special. A girl (Gennie James) goes into Huggaland to seek the magical apples of youth. She visits the Hugglets nursery/garden (Hugglets are baby Hugga Bunches, and the adult Huggas look like human babies, so Huggaland is like the Island of the Alive in "It's Alive! 3", but toothless). In a scary scene the witch queen gets her hand stuck underneath the glass and she turns grey. She gets about 80 years older in only a few seconds because of apple withdrawal.

Tarnation (minor male flash forward, coming of age) 2004 Jonathan Caouette 20-year autobiographical documentary. He started making home movies of himself at age 11.

Alien 3 (implied AP not shown) 1992 movie. During the autopsy Newt is reportedly 12 years old, ie. 6 years older than she is in "Aliens" (1986). If Newt is now 12 years old, then it raises more questions. Why has she aged 6 years in hypersleep when Ripley doesn’t seem to have aged? It may affect children differently than adults. It is not known what happened to the white shirt she wore at the start of hypersleep. In real life, the actors did age 6 years since the last movie.

Party of Five (minor flash forward, coming of age, growth) "Summer Fun, Summer Not" Season 3, Ep 1. Claudia (Lacey Chabert) arrives back from camp. She grew 2 inches! She announces that she met a boy and fell in love.

Femforce (AP RN CB in 2 page epilogue, also AR) #24 "Teen Femforce" comic, 1990. Rad is off the V-45 drug and has started to age. A vitamin restores her youth and she breaks free. Determined to teach the Femforce a lesson, Rad impersonates the old Ms. V. and spikes their champagne with a youth formula. A group of very shapely women becomes young girls of about 13 with much loose clothing. They act less mature. The now-teenaged Femforce spends most of the story under the watchful eyes of TC and Stella. At the end the youth formula wears of and they return to their proper ages (bursting out of their clothing), just as Stella becomes a child after unwittingly drinking the spiked champagne. Flipped (flash forward) Book by Wendelin Van Draanen, told from two alternating viewpoints: the boy and the girl. It begins when they are 7 years old and ends when they are 13. Bryce's first concern with Juli Baker is that the girl won't leave him alone! His eyes make her feel weak all over. She runs over while his family is still moving in and absolutely takes over. Bryce runs through most of the book just to stay away from her. However, by the 8th grade he senses a strange difference in how he feels about Juli. Just as he’s thinking there’s more to her than meets the eye, she’s thinking that he’s not quite all he seemed. Everything flips and Bryce stops running from Juli and she starts running from him. Bryce gets crazy over her and tries kissing her in front of the whole school and plants a tree for her.

Photos illustrate the difficulty and feasibility of somatotyping children, how well the somatotypes of children match their adult somatotypes, the issue of the relative constancy of size and shape during childhood, longitudinal series of monozygotic twins that tracks their development from childhood to maturity.
Harpenden Growth Study J.M. Tanner: In 1948 I was invited by the Ministry of Health to establish a long-term longitudinal study of the growth of healthy children in Harpenden, a small town outside London. We began measuring and photographing the children every 6 months, or every 3 months during the pubertal growth spurt. The material steadily accumulated. We established a full-scale Department of Growth and Development with the aid of a massive grant from the Nuffield Foundation. The majority of the Harpenden children were studied over part or all of the age range 5 to 16 years, so that our material was particularly rich over puberty. Indeed, this had been the reason for my writing "Growth at Adolescence" (first edition 1955). By the late 1960s the volume and the longitudinality of the data had much increased, so Marshall and I set ourselves to analyse it more fully in two papers, one for girls and one for boys (1970). I think the paper has been so frequently cited because it was a normative study of what happens in healthy adolescent girls.
There was an excellent normative study before, made by Earle Reynolds and Janet Wines at the Fels Research Institute, who took their descriptions from the German literature of the 1930s and earlier, and excellent studies since, both in Zurich and in Stockholm, but ours was the only one in the period 1950-1980.
Our photographs were of better quality than others, which led to our photos of the stages of pubertal development in breasts and pubic hair being widely reproduced and adopted. Marshall remained particularly interested in growth and was engaged in a detailed study of the growth of immigrants to the UK, in relation to their degree of acculturation.

This paper reported a mixed longitudinal study of the physical changes of puberty in 192 healthy girls of the Harpenden Growth Study. Pictorial standards for stages of breasts and pubic hair were given and the variations and interrelationships between the various events were described.

Tarzan's Magic Fountain (age stasis, old aged, ARed) 1949 movie. Lost race lives where the fountain of youth is located. They keep it a secret from strangers. A female flyer crashes there and is accepted into the tribe. 30 years later she is forced to return to England to testify in a murder case which Tarzan learned about. On the return trip (off screen) she returns to her normal age. When she returns married to the murder suspect, she is an old woman. Tarzan returns them to the tribe under the condition that no one else will ever come there. Both are returned to youth (off screen). Bad guys are killed before they can reach the fountain. Cheeta the chimp drinks a sample of the water at the end and is turned into a baby. (Time)

Her appearance is no longer exactly the same as Sylia's. Can the Knight Sabers make a dent in Galatea's all-pervading army?

Holy Fire (AR) Bruce Sterling novel, 1997. Speculative work about the impact of an aging population and life extension on society. Wealth and power is concentrated with the very old, leaving the young in society marginalized. The main character is a very old woman who undergoes a treatment which leaves her in her early 20's, and she essentially has to start over.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (AA novels, magic pants) Ann Brashares 2001. They were just a soft, ordinary pair of thrift-shop jeans until four 15-year-old girls with very different sizes and builds took turns trying them on. The pants settle on each girl's hips perfectly, making her look sexy and long-legged and feel confident as a teenager can feel. "These are magical Pants!" they realize.

Finally, Annie's mother takes her outside and they realize that Annie has grown several inches during her illness and now towers over everyone. Annie is taller than both her parents. They have to buy her new uniforms and shoes for school.

Spanglish 2004 movie. (UC, no AR/AP) Deborah, suffering from low self-esteem after losing her job, in an effort to get 12 year old Bernice (Sarah Steele) to become 'fashionably' thin, surprises her daughter with a wardrobe of new, expensive clothing, all too small for the growing girl. The clothes are supposed to be an incentive. This saddens Flor, who spends the night cutting apart the clothes, moving buttons and expanding seams so that everything will fit.

I Dream of Jeannie (mental AR, male old age) "My Master the Swinging Bachelor" 60. 2-30, 4/17/67. Jeannie serves a cake which affects Mr and Mrs Bellows, Tony's girlfriend, and one other young woman. They all begins to act like small children. At the end Tony is served a piece, but becomes an old man both physically and mentally. (Time)

My Favorite Martian (mental AR) "Extra! Extra! Sensory Perception!" 11/1/64. An ESP expert comes to the Martian's home. He and Bill have to hide his ESP or otherwise they will be discovered. Somehow it passes to Mrs Brown, who becomes mentally younger and younger. She passes from young adult to teenager to child to toddler to baby. The Martian manages to stop the process and revert it before she becomes dust. One of the better mental AR episodes. (Time)

Lois Lane (AR) #42 comic. Lois Lane's Teenage romance with Superman. Lois discovers Superman's identity. Because of a head injury she backmails him into marrying her. At the Fortress of Solitude while waiting to get married, she sprays herself with a youth formula and becomes a teenager. Superman is eventually exposed to the magical formula too. The story consists of him advoiding marriage to her while both of them get younger and younger. Lois and Superman are seen at 16, 12, 8, and as infants. (Time)

The Valley Where Time Stood Still (AR) 1974 Lin Carter fantasy novel set on Mars, in an Edgar Rice Burroughs setting. An expedition goes to a valley where the fountain of youth exists. Various members AR to different ages. The heroine is sexually abused by brother. After exposure to the fountain she becomes a young virgin. (Time)

Leinster, Murray (AR) "A Leak In the Fountain of Youth" Astounding Stories ca. 1936. Man develops youth potion and has to use it on himself to avoid a murder investigation. His friend looks after him while he is a baby, but finally has to hire a middle aged nurse to help them. The police begin to suspect them of his disappearence. They have to reage him to normal, but have to get him away from the nurse first. In the process she is turned into a "coltish 21" party girl.
Leinster, Murray (TG AR) "Be Young Again" Additional info: The man takes the formula to escape the police, but instead of just turning him into a young man it turns him into a beautiful young woman. This is because the other man makes a mistake in the formula. She/he is in a great hurry at first to change back, but after she starts getting very expensive presents from men is in no hurry to change back. (Time)

Ballard, J.G. (male AR, unbirthing) "Mr F is Mr F" 1961 short story. Woman convinces man that she is having his baby. However, as he gets younger and younger he realizes that he IS the baby. He becomes so young that she has complete control and finally gives birth to him in reverse. After 9 months his friend is invited over, and they unconceive the child. It is revealed that she has done this over and over by the collection of wedding rings at the end. (Time)
