- Eli (Lina Leandersson, 9/27/1995) was 11/12-ish when she made the film, but she sometimes looks older, especially in the bed scene where she appears 14 or 15. Her voice was dubbed over because the character was supposed to be 200 years old. In some cases her features were altered with CGI. She looks quite a bit older as she sits on the jungle gym, really young when she knocks on Oskar's door before the bleeding scene, but a lot older in the basement. Those dark trousers tend to make her legs look long and slim, which of course makes her look more mature. In the subsequent scene where we see her running in silhouette she looks rather young. An older actress stepped in to play Eli (Robin De Lano, Susanne Ruben?). It was claimed Lina's physical appearance changed considerably during the course of filming. Her apparent age could change by just her turning her head a few degrees.

Fashion photographer Klein's experimentation continues with moving images through the depiction of the stages of one woman's life, played by model/actress Amber Valetta, until she reaches the age of 110. An exploration of the illusion of time: a woman projects herself into an imagined future and creates the dynamic range of aging. Time Capsule challenges our ideas and concepts of linear time, and of dimension; she is aging in a realm that is timeless.
- 09/2011 W Magazine photo story project under the theme of "TIME". It seems the story was inspired by "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" movie. Amber transitions from a young woman with flapper curls and Clara Bow-esque brows in the 1920s right through to modern times with some eerily realistic makeup and prosthetic work, dressed in various different fashions each decade.

The folklorist Kunio Yanagita studied folk tales and beliefs centering on the motif of "abnormal birth" and the "small child" who grows up suddenly, and accomplishes very difficult tasks that normal humans cannot achieve. In doing so, the child makes the grandparents, who have raised him with great care, very happy. These children are granted only to those who have strong faith and prayers.
All the main characters in these folktales were born extremely small:
- "Kaguyahime" (Bamboo Princess) of Taketori Monogatari (The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter) came from bamboo. She grew from a small baby into a woman of extraordinary beauty. Taketori tried to keep her away, but the news of her beauty had spread.
- Peach boy "Momotarou" came out of a peach.
- "Urikohime" (the Melon Princess) from a melon.
- "Issun-boshi" (Little One-Inch boy): princess uses a mallet to grow him to full-size and they eventually wed.
Yanagita tried to find traces of myths within folktales. In researching orally transmitted literature it is possible to establish the study of mythology.

- A couple is filmed in slow motion, as fingers are pointed and faces distorted with yelling and anger. A dish is hurled. Intercut with a 6-year-old boy and girl, dressed immaculately as adults, engaged in adult type fighting. The girl wears a fashionable dress, and the boy a suit. It is comical because these are children dressed as adults, behaving as adults, but really it drives home how childish fighting is. We see the two kids slam doors. The girl has locked herself in her bathroom. Shockingly, we see she "turns" back into an adult woman, and she cries, her head buried in her knees. Outside we see the boy "morph" back into a man, as he stews, sitting on the floor on the other side of the door, just inches from his wife. The door opens to reveal the kids have now fully morphed into adults who are dressed as the kids were.
